March 2026 Millions tuned into BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour as Nuala McGovern hosted IJM UK’s Chief Public Engagement Officer Molly Hodson and SafeToNet’s co‑founder Sharon Pursey OBE to expose a hidden and fast‑growing threat: the online sexual abuse and exploitation of children. In 2022 alone, nearly half a million children in the Philippines were trafficked to produce new child sexual exploitation material, including livestreamed content. It hasn’t compromised privacy in any way, but it would stop [child sexual abuse material] from being rendered to the screen or broadcast via the camera. -

IJM UK Hosts Parliamentary Drop-In
In partnership with the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Human Trafficking & Modern Slavery and the APPG on Children’s Online Safety, IJM UK hosted a parliamentary drop‑in that informed the MPs about the rise of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children – and the opportunity for the UK Government to take a global lead in stopping the abuse before it starts. IJM UK is calling for legislation to require device manufacturers and operating system services to incorporate safeguards which disrupt child sexual abuse material, including livestreaming, into the operating systems of devices sold in the UK – putting a stop to the abuse before it starts. -
