MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The PNP Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) arrested three suspected traffickers and rescued 23 victims, 22 of whom are minors, from trafficking in persons and online sexual exploitation in two successive operations yesterday, April 5, 2022.The operations, a product of over six months of case build-up, were a result of international law enforcement collaboration between the US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Philippine National Police - Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) through the Transnational Criminal Investigation Task Force (TCITF).The first operation saw two female suspects, who are sisters aged 39 and 33, arrested while 12 minors, some of whom are relatives of the suspects, were rescued by the operatives.Supporting the operation were the Taguig City Police Office through Sub-Station 9, Taguig City SWAT, the City Social Welfare and Development Office, and International Justice Mission (IJM).In the second operation, another female suspect, aged 32, was arrested. -
