New ILO Report Estimates that Almost 1 in 10 Children Worldwide Is in Child Labour
The reports analysis also suggests that without swift mitigation measures, rising poverty driven by the COVID-19 pandemic will threaten to push almost 9 million more children into child labour. Given the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 8.7 which states the commitment to end child labour by 2025, these new findings stress the urgency to act immediately. -
