Biju has over 14 years’ experience at IJM, having joined IJM in 2010 as IJM’s Director in Kolkata, India, where he led a multidisciplinary team working with authorities to bring to safety women and girls trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation.

Since then, Biju has served as National Director of Business Solutions for IJM India and in 2019, Biju joined the IJM Africa & Europe region as Vice President of Strategy & Operations, leading a regional division supporting 330 staff across 10 countries. He has driven strategic initiatives to scale IJM’s programmes, strengthen operational infrastructure, and expand financial sustainability. Under his leadership, the region has deepened its work in combatting trafficking in Europe, labour trafficking in West Africa, and violence against women and children in East Africa, while also growing fundraising efforts across the UK, Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland.

Before joining IJM, Biju was Chief Operating Officer at microfinance institution in Chennai, India. Biju holds a BA in English and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in International Economic Development from Eastern University.

Biju and his wife live in London with their three daughters.
