Who are IJM?
We believe everyone deserves to live in safety. IJM works to protect people in poverty from violence, modern slavery and human trafficking.
Imagine being at risk of slavery and violence – and knowing nobody will protect you. This is the reality for millions of people around the world. Right now, children, women and men are facing crimes like trafficking, slavery, violence against women and children, and police abuse of power.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global organisation partnering with local police, survivors and supporters to stop slavery and violence. Together with authorities, we've brought more than 90,000 people to safety from slavery and violence, seen slavery decrease by up to 86% in places where we're worked, and protected over 10 million people from violence. We’re inspired by Christian faith, but we partner with and serve people of all faiths and none.
What type of work will a summer placement undertake?
Example tasks may include:
- Developing resources for key projects, events or campaigns
- Creating and scheduling digital content for social media platforms and IJM UK website
- Creating and editing video content (previous experience using Premier Pro would be desirable)
- Representing IJM UK at a summer festival, sharing the biblical call to justice and the work of IJM
- Assisting with Fundraising projects, events or campaigns
- Assisting with Champions (volunteer) resources and projects
- Research for future projects, events or campaigns
- Administration support
IJM has a pattern of Christian spiritual formation. Our staff and Summer Placement volunteers engage in the work of justice through daily and quarterly prayer rhythms.
