Modern slavery occurs in almost every country in the world.
Modern slavery and violence can be stopped with accountability.
We stand alongside survivors to build back safer societies.
We will not stop Until All Are Free.
IJM's work to stop slavery and violence has been reported across major news outlets.
Who We Are
We are a global organisation partnering with local justice systems to end violence against people living in poverty.
Our Model to End Slavery, Trafficking and Violence
Bring People to Safety
We work with local police and trained partners to protect people who are trapped in slavery and violence, and then support them with trauma-informed care to rebuild their lives in freedom. We’ve partnered with police to help bring more than 85,000 people to safety from slavery, trafficking and other forms of violence.
Bring Criminals to Justice
We relentlessly pursue justice in court. We ensure that traffickers, child sex offenders and other criminals are held to account so they cannot abuse, exploit, or enslave others. We’ve helped local authorities convict more than 5,700 perpetrators in local courts.
Strengthen Justice Systems
We provide training, mentoring and support to police, judges and other community leaders to slow down and stop the cycle of violence. Since 2012, IJM has seen over 346,000 people trained, including 135,000+ justice system officials (police, prosecutors, judges and social workers) as well as 209,000+ community leaders, church members, NGO's, media, and students to recognise and respond to violence and trafficking. Through training and partnership, communities will be protected from violence, and have a safe future that lasts.
