Volunteers
Use your time and talent to be a crucial part of the IJM UK team
Thank you for your support of IJM and interest in partnering with us. One of the unique aspects of IJM's work is that we provide on-going professional investigation, legal and social work services for our clients. Due to the nature of our work, it is rare for us to have short-term opportunities for those who desire direct contact with our clients.
We do, however, have a number of ways with which you can get involved here in the UK and still be a part of IJM's work. We would encourage you to consider the following options, as our UK volunteers are an intergral part in helping IJM UK be effective in the fields in which we operate.
IJM UK Church Representative
This is for individuals who are committed members of their local church and who desire to share and advocate God's call to justice within their congregation. Activities include:
- offering and IJM UK speaker to come and speak to the congregation or speak themselves
- being the IJM UK point of contact within their church
- sharing IJM's update and prayer needs
- organising church fundriaisng events
- encouraging groups/leaders to explore the biblical mandate for justice (click here for more information, resources and support for how to do this)
- man IJM UK tables at conferences/events
Justice Advocate
Justice Advocate's are individuals who are firmly established in their home church congregation and have a passion to engage extensively in the fight for justice. This position requires the highest level of commitment. Activities will include much of what is listed above, except with a more regional focus, actively engaging churches, schools and other groups in their regional areas and participating in speaking engagements.
Organise a Fundraising Event
It may be that you are not in a position to commit to IJM but would still like to promote our work through organising your own awareness or fundraising functions. Please click here for more ideas on this.
Specialised Volunteer
Specialised volunteers are individuals with professional training, skills or experience in design, media, research, or any other areas that may be used to promote the work of IJM UK and communicate our passion to express God's heart for justice. If you would like to collaborate with us on any type of creative project, we would love to hear from you.
IJM UK Volunteer
From time to time, there may be the possibility of volunteering with IJM UK office doing general administrative tasks, office work and sending mail outs. Please write to us with details of your availability and location and we will be happy to contact you when such opportunities arise.
