Where We Work

Africa

In four field offices in Africa, IJM works to protect vulnerable individuals from sexual violence, illegal property seizure, illegal detention and police brutality. These crimes overwhelmingly victimize the poor and children.

Latin America

Despite changing attitudes toward the seriousness of sexual abuse in Latin America, sexual violence cases remain under-prosecuted and perpetrators have traditionally received light sentences or been set free in much of the region.

South Asia

IJM’s four India Field Offices work to combat slavery and forced prostitution, bringing freedom and restoration to victims and ensuring that perpetrators are prosecuted for their crimes.

South-east Asia

In South-east Asia, IJM staff work on the frontlines to bring rescue and relief to victims of sexual violence, including trafficked women and children, and to prosecute their perpetrators. IJM also work in this region to release wrongfully imprisoned children and to bring the benefits of citizenship to those who qualify but are unable to process their claims.
