Executive Director: Terry Tennens

Terry Tennens became Executive Director of IJM UK in July 2006. Previously he was Director of the Building Bridges of Hope project for Churches Together in Britain and Ireland which developed skills and training in organisational mission accompaniment a process enabling churches and organisations to excel in their purpose, values and vision.

Prior to that Terry was Chief Executive of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors. Representing independent funeral directors across the UK and Ireland, providing members products, services, developing training and liaising with Government creating standards and best practices across the profession.

Terry is an ordained minister of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and pastored two churches, upon leaving theological college, Terry became Assistant minister at Central Baptist Church, Chelmsford, Essex and then spent nine years in Earls Colne Baptist Church, north Essex. He qualified with a BA (Hons); Master of Theology and Post graduate Executive Diploma in Management. Terry is married and has two sons.

Chairman: Dr Alastair Brown

Dr Alastair Brown is a practising lawyer at the Scots Bar and legal author in Scotland with a particular interest in criminal appeals, financial crime and human rights law. He holds a PhD in International Criminal Law and is a Fellow of the Scottish Centre for International Law. He recently completed a term of over 5 years as an Advocate Depute, prosecuting High Court crime and he is recognised by the Council of Europe Group of States Against Corruption as an expert evaluator of anti-corruption law and practice. He and his wife live in Edinburgh and worship at St Thomas' Episcopal Church.

Martin Greenslade

Martin Greenslade was educated at Tonbridge School and obtained his Master's degree from St. John's College, Cambridge. Before going to Cambridge, he spent six months in Haiti with Tear Fund. After university, he spent a year travelling through India, China and other Asian countries.
In 1987, Martin joined Coopers & Lybrand, where he qualified as a chartered accountant. In 1991 he spent time working in Zambia before travelling through several African countries. On his return, Martin helped found a corporate finance boutique and subsequently became Group Finance Director of Alvis plc. In 2005, Martin was appointed Group Finance Director of Land Securities Group Plc.

Martin is married to Alison and they have three children (Francesca, William, and Edward). They live in Sevenoaks, Kent and attend St Nicholas Church.

Andrew Legg

Andy joined the Board of IJM UK in the summer of 2007. Andy is a doctoral candidate in law and teaches law at Oxford University. He is married to Hannah who is a trainee solicitor. They live in Harlesden, NW London, and are part of Community Church Harlesden.

In 2006 Andy and Hannah served as legal fellows for IJM at the Washington, DC headquarters and then in Manila, the Philippines where they worked to release children who were wrongfully detained in adult prisons. Andy brings vital experience of IJM across three continents.

Raj Parker

Raj Parker joined the IJM UK Board in September 2008.  He has been a Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for 16 years and is Co Head of the financial institutions disputes practice.  He is a Recorder of the Crown Court, Solicitor Advocate, Arbitrator and accredited Mediator.  He is also a Trustee and Director of the Rory Peck Trust which assists freelance newsgatherers around the world.  Raj is married to Penny and they have three children.  He lives in London and attends St Mark's Church Battersea Rise.
